This week I have made sure to respond and welcome teachers as they sign up and introduce themselves to the group. I also spent quite a bit of time helping Lori on the handshake document. I wrote about a page of information following the structure she’d outlined but putting it into our words. I also began formatting options for the document to give it a polished, professional look that could be emailed, downloaded or mailed.
I created a new page to highlight the assessment process and badges. It took 2 seconds to write that statement and about 2 hours to download, restructure, organize, write, and upload. Ha! We also lost a page on the website but I was able to rebuild it and keep links working.
We have now added a ‘teacher’s only’ page to the website. This holds a lot of potential for providing password protected information to those currently enrolled only.
How do I feel about my progress?
I feel strong about my progress. There’s a lot to do to keep moving forward but I feel like I’ve been able to keep the website updated and help with other’s progress. I think that others are feeling overwhelmed but I actually feel like I have more of an understanding and end in sight which is helping me regroup and move on.
What do I still need to do?
Keep moving forward. Set time aside twice a day to make needed upgrades, respond to incoming teachers/intros and address any other needs. This will help me budget time and projects.
How can others help?
I feel like we’re at that stage where we each have a clear goal on our end of a project. Other’s can help by asking for help but being specific and clear in what they need. In our research class, “trust the process,” is a common quote – but I feel like it applies here, too. We’ve done our prep work, now we need to ‘roll’ with it a bit, handle things to the best of our ability and trust the students and teachers to utilize this project to the best of their ability.
